Support and advice for the various aspects of assessment at the University are available through a number of channels.

Training (Faculty Specific):

A programme of staff development to support the Assessment Journey Programme has been defined in collaboration with each faculty TEL team. Details are published on the faculty TEL blogs. Please see the links under ‘Resources’ on the right hand side of the page.

General:

Lynda.com provides video training on common and specialist software packages, as well as more general or conceptual videos, and are an excellent resource for both staff and students. You will need your standard SHU login details to access this resource, and apps are available to allow the videos to be viewed on iPhone and iPad  or  Android devices.

System Issues:

In case of system issues, two reference documents have been produced that outline the contingency actions to be followed, together with action owners:

The first, Business Contingency Plan, focuses on the contingency actions to be followed in relation to submission, marking and feedback in the event that Blackboard becomes unavailable.

The second, Contingency Process for system failure, focuses on the contingency actions to be followed in relation to other assessment based processes in the event University systems become unavailable.
